Augmented Reality Is Not The Future Of Gaming

Introduction

I’ve been playing games since before I could read, and I’m always on the look out for new technology. So, when augmented reality (AR) started catching on as a gaming technology, I was eager to see how it would change the way we play games. But despite all my excitement about AR and its potential to revolutionize gaming, after trying out some of these new AR games myself—and talking with other gamers about their experiences—I’ve come to realize that it’s not going to happen any time soon.

Augmented reality is not the future of gaming

Augmented reality is a cool technology that has a lot of potential, but it’s not yet advanced enough to replace traditional gaming experiences. There are not many games available for AR, and those that are available take too long to set up and start playing.

The technology is not yet advanced enough

  • The technology is not advanced enough to be used in all situations.
  • It’s not good enough to be used in large public spaces.
  • It’s not good enough to be used outdoors.
  • And, of course, it can’t handle a large number of people at once (yet).

It takes too long to set up and start playing a game.

There are a number of reasons why augmented reality is not the future of gaming. The first, and most important reason is that it takes too long to set up and start playing a game.

For example, let’s say I want to play Angry Birds with my friends in AR. First, I need to download the app from Apple’s App Store or Google Play (if you’re on Android). Then I need to launch the app on my phone. Next comes setting up our environment so we can see each other through our phones’ cameras–which means making sure both phones are pointing at each other at all times during gameplay (and if they aren’t pointing directly at each other then there will be no interaction between players). Finally when everything is ready: We press play!

It’s hard for players to move around in the game.

  • It’s hard for players to move around in the game.
  • There are many obstacles in augmented reality games that make it difficult for players to see what’s happening on their screen, much less move around freely. This is because most games require you to stand still and look at your phone as if it were a TV screen; however, if you try moving around while playing an AR game (or even just turning your head), then it becomes impossible for anyone around you – including yourself – to see what’s on your phone’s display!

This lack of mobility makes these types of experiences feel more like watching a movie than engaging with an interactive experience.

There are not many games available for AR.

There are not many games available for AR. This is because it’s a new technology, and developers are still figuring out how to make the most of it. It will take some time before they can create games that are well suited to AR, but in the meantime, puzzle games and board games have been doing pretty well so far.

The most popular AR games include “Jurassic World Alive” (which lets you collect dinosaurs), “Pokémon Go” (a game where you catch Pokémon through your phone camera), “Zombie Gunship Revenant” (where you shoot zombies with an airplane), and “Clash Royale Royal Battle Royale Mode!”

AR is a cool technology that has a lot of potential, but it doesn’t replace traditional gaming experiences.

The truth is, AR is a cool technology that has a lot of potential, but it doesn’t replace traditional gaming experiences.

This isn’t to say that you shouldn’t explore the world of augmented reality games–they’re fun and can be helpful tools for teaching kids about STEM topics. But if you’re looking for an immersive gaming experience that replicates what you get from playing on a console or PC (or even just your phone), AR isn’t quite there yet.

Conclusion

AR is a cool technology that has a lot of potential, but it doesn’t replace traditional gaming experiences. AR games are still very limited in their scope, and they’re not easy to play. The only way AR will become more popular is if developers can create better games that people want to play.
